How to Find an English-Speaking Hair Salon in Seoul
Every hair salon listed on millio confirms English service — look for the small globe badge on the salon's photo before you book. About 1 in 3 also confirm Japanese and Chinese, mostly in Myeongdong. Here's how the badge works and what it actually promises.
Translation apps get you through most of a haircut once you're in the chair. They don't tell you in advance whether a salon expects you to need one. millio salons carry a language badge for exactly that — and it means something specific, not «probably fine».
The numbers below are from millio's own listings, checked 2026-09-23. Nothing here is estimated.
- 01Check the globe badge on the store photo, not the star ratingEvery hair salon on millio shows a small badge over its cover photo — a globe icon followed by the languages that salon has confirmed it can serve you in. English appears on all 13 hair salons currently listed. If you need more than that, look for 中文 or 日本語 next to it. No badge doesn't mean a salon can't help you — it means nothing has been publicly confirmed.
- 02The badge is confirmed by the salon, not guessed by milliomillio doesn't infer language support from its own translation features or from where a salon is located. A badge only appears after the salon's owner explicitly selects it in the admin screen — the field starts empty for every new listing and stays empty until someone confirms it. That's why some salons in tourist-heavy areas still show English only, or no badge at all.

All three Myeongdong hair salons on millio carry the full three-language badge; of the six Gangnam salons, only one does. If Japanese or Chinese matters more to you than English, Myeongdong salons are the safer first look.
