How long a haircut takes in Seoul — usually a 60-minute slot

A full haircut at a Seoul salon is booked as 60 minutes, a bangs trim as 15 to 30. Colour is booked for about two hours, a perm two to three, straightening three — plan which day to book each.

Every line on a Korean salon menu carries its own booking time — a cut and a full head of colour are not close, and that gap decides what else fits in your day.

The figures below are the booking lengths that hair salons listed on millio set for each menu line, not stopwatch times, counted on 2026-10-02 (KST) at 13 of the 14 salons (one menu isn't sorted by service type yet). Full-length lines only: bangs-only, root-only, kids', add-on, toning and package lines are left out. Lines are counted as each salon lists them — even the few that look like a salon-wide default, such as a full cut booked at 30 minutes — except two heat-perm lines whose minutes sit far outside every other salon's (item 5).

  1. 01A full haircut is booked as 60 minutes — a bangs trim as 15 to 30At 13 of the 14 hair salons listed on millio, 15 of the 18 full-length cut lines are booked as exactly 60 minutes; the other three are booked at 30, 80 and 90 (the 90 bundles a scalp scaling). The average is 61 minutes, at ₩33,000 to ₩160,000. The 11 shorter lines — bangs trims (15 to 30 minutes), kids' cuts, a line cut and a face-line cut — are booked at 15 to 45 minutes, at ₩5,000 to ₩35,000.
  2. 02The same 60 minutes can start at ₩33,000 or ₩77,000Booking time doesn't set the price: the 15 full-cut lines booked at 60 minutes start anywhere from ₩33,000 to ₩77,000 across 12 salons. Part of that is rank — Juno Hair Myeongdong 2nd books a cut, a director's cut and a head director's cut at 60 minutes each, for ₩45,000, ₩50,000 and ₩70,000.
  3. 03Blow-dry and a down perm both fit inside an hourA styling-only blow-dry is booked for 30 to 60 minutes, 42 on average (15 lines). A 다운펌 (down perm) — a light perm that presses volume down at the sides, or all over — is booked for 30 to 60 minutes, 47 on average (10 lines); the one 90-minute line bundles a cut with it. Plan about an hour for a cut, a blow-dry or a down perm. Prices for blow-dry and styling are in our hair styling guide below.
  4. 04Full-head colour is booked for about two hours — a root touch-up, an hour to 90 minutesAcross 13 salons, 35 full-head colour lines are booked for 60 to 180 minutes, 116 on average, at ₩120,000 to ₩308,000. A root touch-up (뿌리 염색) is shorter: 60 to 90 minutes, ₩70,000 to ₩198,000. Colour sold together with a treatment isn't counted: the longest colour line on millio, 270 minutes (₩500,000), is Park Jun Beauty Lab's colour + treatment + home-care package for long hair, and one other salon lists a colour + treatment line. The 10-minute add-on lines (an extra shade) are left out too. A makeover that needs several bleach sessions takes far longer — see our K-pop hair guide.
  5. 05A perm is booked for two to three hours, straightening about three콜드펌 (cold perm) is booked for about 2 hours — 134 minutes on average, 60 to 180 (29 lines, 13 salons). 열펌 (heat perm), sold as 디지털펌 (digital perm) or 셋팅펌 (setting perm), about 3 hours — 173 minutes, 120 to 240 (32 lines, 11 salons). 매직 (magic straight) and 스트레이트펌 also about 3 hours — 184 minutes, 120 to 270 (22 lines, 9 salons). A heat perm holds a rounder curl for longer, and it is booked longer too. Bangs-only and root-only lines (30 to 150 minutes) are counted apart, and two heat-perm lines booked at 30 and 60 minutes, far from every other menu, are left out. Prices by type, and which day of the trip to book, are in our perm guide below.
  6. 06Balayage books 2½ to 4 hours; highlights, 2½ to 3Only two salons list a line named 발레아쥬 (balayage): 7 full-length lines, booked at 150 to 240 minutes, 214 on average, at ₩150,000 to ₩600,000. Park Jun Beauty Lab books 150, 180 and 210 minutes by hair length (₩150,000 to ₩210,000); Sunsiki Hair Main Branch books 240 minutes at every length (₩450,000 to ₩600,000). 하이라이트 (highlights) is a different technique, listed at 4 salons: its 6 full-length lines are booked at 150 to 180 minutes, ₩180,000 to ₩240,000 (top-only, half-head and partial lines aren't counted).
  7. 07Plan the day around the chair, not the other way aroundA cut, a blow-dry or a down perm is booked for about an hour. Colour is booked for about two; a perm, straightening or balayage for two to four hours — treat those as half-day plans: a morning slot with nothing booked right after, not squeezed in before a flight or dinner. The minutes are the salon's booking block, so if you need to be somewhere afterwards, ask before you book.
