Can you get your eyebrows tattooed during a one-week trip to Korea, and will they look normal before you fly home? Yes to the first, mostly no to the second. A Korean 눈썹 반영구 (nunsseop banyeonggu, semi-permanent brows) appointment is about two hours of work — and then a calendar that runs longer than most trips.

The days you spend photographing yourself in Seoul are almost exactly the days the brows look their worst. Every figure and interval below is as of August 2026, and each one is traceable to a source at the foot of this page.

01Days 4 to 7 are the scab days — work out which day of your trip that isKorean studios call this stage 탈각 (talgak, the flaking-off phase), and the Korean sources agree on the shape of it: colour looks darkest on days 1–3, scabs and flakes lift from day 4 to day 7, the brows go unexpectedly faint from day 8 to day 14, and the true colour only arrives at three to four weeks. Count those days forward from the slot you are about to book. That stretch is what your trip photos will show.
02엠보, 수지 and 콤보 are your three options, not three brand namesA Korean brow menu rarely says microblading. It says 엠보 (embo) — drawing the brow one hair-stroke at a time, for a natural finish; 수지 (suji) — filling the shape with soft colour the way brow powder does, sold in English as powder or ombré brows; and 콤보 (kombo), which does both. Price climbs in that order, so 콤보 is the dearest line on the menu. 엠보 is also the one that fades soonest: the shaded methods lay colour down as a surface rather than as lines, and hold longer on average.
03If your skin is oily, 엠보 strokes blur — ask for 수지 insteadSkin type settles this more than taste does. On oily skin the fine lines of 엠보 spread and soften, so shading (수지) keeps its shape better as it wears. On dry or normal skin 엠보 reads as real hair and is the more convincing option with no makeup over it. Say which you have when you book, and say it again at the consultation.
04The appointment is 90 minutes to 2 hours, and the first 20–30 are numbing creamBudget one and a half to two hours door to door. Numbing cream goes on before anything else and has to sit for 20 to 30 minutes, which is why a session that looks short on the menu eats a whole morning. Korean studios describe the feeling as a light scratching rather than pain. Do not put it in front of a same-day flight or a booked tour.
05Keep water off the brows for the first day or two, then wash with water only for a weekThe aftercare is short and strict. Keep water off the brows for the first one to two days, then for about a week wash gently, with water and nothing else. Put 재생 연고 (jaesaeng yeongo, regenerating ointment) on morning and night for three to five days, and never pull at a flake — pulling the colour off with it is exactly how patchy brows happen. Korean studios also ask you to skip alcohol and cigarettes for at least three days, ideally the full week.
06No sauna, no 찜질방, no swimming for a week — so book the brows at the end of the tripSweat, steam and pool water are out for at least one week after the session, and that collides with almost every Korea itinerary: the bathhouse, the 찜질방 (jjimjilbang, Korean sauna complex), the water park, the long summer hike. Do the jjimjilbang days first and put the brow appointment on your last day or two in the country. You then peel at home instead of in your holiday photographs, and nothing on the itinerary has to be given up.
07The retouch falls 3 to 8 weeks later, and you will not be in Korea for itKorean studios treat the second session as the last step of the work rather than a repair — it evens out colour that did not take and fine-tunes the shape. The guidance splits on when: some say three to six weeks, others four to eight. Either way it lands after your flight. Most Korean quotes are built as a first session plus one retouch about a month later, and the lowest prices are often the ones that leave the retouch out. So ask before you pay — 리터치 포함인가요? (is the retouch included?) — and know that if it is, you are paying for a step you may never use.

That list changes constantly. Studios that build one retouch into the price are commonly described at ₩150,000–250,000, with premium Seoul-area salons at ₩300,000–700,000. Colour holds one to three years, and a refresh is usual every one to one and a half years after that. For scale, US microblading is quoted at $400–800 for a first session that often includes a 6–8 week touch-up.
